Miss Jen
Jennifer Gordon has been providing exceptional child care in Bend, Oregon for the past 12 years. During this time, she has worked to fine-tune every aspect of her operation from her business practices to her unique, inclusive educational model that strives to ensure every child is cared for, challenged and secure in their environment. She has found her calling in shaping young minds, but that is not where her professional career began.
Jennifer was born and raised in Northern California. Her educational background and early work experiences were in accounting. She then pursued a career in real estate. In 2008 when the market took a downturn, Jennifer chose to relocate to beautiful Bend, Oregon where her daughter was born later that year.
Quickly, Jennifer realized that she not only longed to spend more time with her young daughter, but that she was also ready to pursue her lifelong passion for childhood development. Knowing risks were how incredible things happen, Jennifer decided to open a preschool out of her home. In time, development of curriculum, studies of early childhood behavior, and the desire to inspire teachers to cultivate their own teaching craft brought about Active Learning Academy.
Miss Amanda
Miss Amanda has been with Active Learning Academy for 4 years. She brings her love of music, gentle guidance and genuine excitement for watching kids learn from her leadership.
Miss Amanda enjoys the great outdoors where she loves to get lost on the trails and camping among the trees. Her daughter, Charlotte, inspires many activities brought into the classroom.
Within our program, Miss Amanda is the Head Teacher of our Pre-K team and has a positive impact on her co-workers and parents she works with.
Miss Taylor ‘Tay Tay’
Miss Taylor has been a part of our school since she was 14-years-old. She’s a vibrant, creative, caring teacher who leads by example and truly believes in every child’s hidden potential.
Miss Taylor was born and raised in Bend, OR. She is always exploring new things and enjoys spending time with friends and family.
As the Head Teacher of our Nursery Program, you can rest assured that her amazing communication skills and zest for life will provide a wonderful, enriching environment for your child.
